An Energy Performance Certificate is a required assessment on every property that is sold or rented. It details the asset rating (i.e. the material efficiency) of a property based upon such attributes as building materials, insulation, heating system, glazing etc. The EPC shows two things about the property: The energy efficiency rating (based upon how much the home would cost to run; and The environmental impact rating (based upon how much carbon dioxide is released into the environment because of the home) The efficiency ratings are set on a scale of A-G. A = Best efficiency, G = Poor efficiency. Please click here to view an example Energy Performance Certificate
