Before beginning your report, you will need to define the building and inspection details.



Now you have defined the overall system, you need to enter the individual information for each of the units.

Select to 'Enter Cooling Plant data'.


You can see on the left hand side that there are three stages of information to be entered for each of the units

The first stage of information to be entered are the basic details relating to the component

The information for the first unit should now be entered.

  • The identifier for the first unit will be VOL001/SYS001/CSCP001
  • Enter the manufacturer of the unit
  • Enter a brief description for what type of unit it is.
  • Enter the Model or Reference number
  • Enter the serial number
  • Indicate the year that the unit was installed
  • If you do not know for certain, then make an approximation
  • Enter the Rated Cooling Capacity of the chiller.
  • Enter the refrigeration charge in kilograms
  • Indicate the location of the external chiller
  • Enter the area being served by the unit
  • In the box below, note whether there was any discrepancy in the information provided by the client and the on site information collected.

Select to ‘Save and Next’

On the left hand side of the screen, you can now see that you are on the second stage of information relating to this unit


On this page you will entering information relating to the visual inspection of the unit

  • Go through and answer the standardised list of questions relating to this particular unit
  • Every individual text box should have some information entered into it.
  • If you do not have any comment to make, then enter "N/A"

Once you have completed the first set of questions, select 'Save and Next'



You are now on the final section for this unit.

If you wish to navigate back to a previous page, then use the menus available on the left hand side.

Go through and answer all the questions within this section.


  • Enter the information for the sizing calculations
  • Enter the total number of occupants served by the particular unit that you are looking at
  • Enter the floor area that this unit serves
  • Enter the occupant density
  • Now enter the maximum instantaneous heat gain in W/m2 for the area that the unit is serving
  • Enter the installed cooling capacity of the unit
  • Now determine whether or not the unit is sized correctly
  • This is a simple calculation in multiplying the total floor area by maximum instantaneous heat gain
  • On the Refrigeration Temperature section, enter the pre/post compressor temperatures of the unit as well as the ambient temperature
  • If you were unable to obtain this information, then enter ˜0 into each of the boxes.

Select Save and Close to finish this section.
