As part of an RdSAP10 assessment, assessors are required to record whether a smart meter is present at the property. However, with many different meter models in service across the country, identifying whether a meter is smart — and which generation it is — is not always straightforward.
This module will give you the knowledge and confidence to correctly identify smart meters during a survey. We will cover the key visual signs to look for on both electricity and gas meters, how to distinguish between Generation 1 and Generation 2 smart meters, and what to do when you are unsure.
By the end of this module, you should be able to identify a smart meter from its front panel markings, lights and physical characteristics.
